This is a draft written in plain English to describe how Sudex is built. It must be reviewed by a lawyer, and the business details completed, before Sudex is sold.
Who we are
Sudex is made and sold by Sudex. In this policy, “we” means Sudex. You can reach us about privacy at privacy@getsudex.com.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The Sudex program
Sudex runs on your computer and processes your documents there. We never receive your documents or anything taken from them — their contents, file names, folder paths, matter names, document IDs or file fingerprints. The program does not include analytics or crash reporting that sends information to us.
Sudex saves your jobs, matters, templates and settings as small files in your Windows profile. They stay on your computer; we cannot see them.
Accounts and licences
When subscriptions begin, you will create an account to buy and use Sudex. We plan to keep only what running a subscription needs:
- your name, email address, and your firm’s name and billing address;
- your subscription, its payments and invoices;
- for each computer where Sudex is signed in: an anonymous identifier, the Sudex version, and when the licence was last checked.
Card payments will be handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
This website
getsudex.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or tracking scripts, and it loads nothing from other companies’ servers — even its fonts are served from here. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
When you email us
If you write to us — for early access, support or anything else — we keep your message and your contact details to reply and to keep a record of what we discussed. We will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be.
Who we share with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run Sudex — hosting, email and payments — and only as much as each needs, or where the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need to keep it. Write to privacy@getsudex.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below, and tell account holders by email before any change that matters takes effect.
